Ahsedüker – Hamm

Material: Steel pipes weighing approximately 60 tons each, with a total weight of around 1,530 tons
Dimensions: Outer diameter 3,600 mm, wall thickness 35 mm, delivered in 25 segments, each approx. 20 m long

As part of the project, five steel pipes, each approximately 100 meters long and weighing over 300 tons, were laid under the Datteln-Hamm Canal to route the Ahse River beneath the canal. The components were supplied by ProPipe, which delivered the large-scale components to the construction site largely ready for installation. In addition to the pipe segments, the scope of delivery also included bulkhead plates, end caps, lifting eyes, and a highly durable 500-µm coating.

The logistics operation posed unique challenges: Due to a transport width of up to 5.60 m, a maximum permitted height of 4.20 m, and a total weight of over 80 tons per shipment, the 25 heavy-haul transports had to be meticulously planned and coordinated with the relevant authorities over a distance of more than 500 km. All shipments arrived at the construction site on time and undamaged.
